Description
SFK12AC/10 12 Port Category 6 10″ Soho Coupler Patch Panel
In response to ever increasing demand for SOHO solutions, we are pleased to be introducing our 10″, 12 port Category 6 coupler panel.
With the range’s popularity in small scale settings where ease of use is paramount, using a coupler panel allows for consistently high-quality connections with minimum effort and termination expertise.
Ideas about using this product:-
If cables have been installed in your home or office and terminated with RJ45 plugs, they can be inserted into the rear of this patch panel and then using patch leads, you can connect those cables to your Ethernet switch. Typically your router may have 3 or 4 spare ports so by using one of the ports you simply use a patch lead to connect to an Ethernet switch (5, 8 or 16 way for example) to accommodate the number of cables you want to be active. With this patch panel you have 12 ports so for all circuits to be live you need a minimum of 12 ports on your Ethernet switch. The patch panel has a label strip to use for identifying what location point each cable has been installed to.
Another application might be using a coupler patch panel to extend existing cables terminated with plugs to a new position in you home or office using patch leads.
If you are setting up a network in your home or small office and intend to run the cables yourself and prefer to have a solution that requires no specialist tools, then there is an option:-
In general data cabling around your house would usually be Category 5e, 6 or 6a compliant and comprise of solid 4 pair cable. This will accommodate POE applications, of course if POE is going to used you need to ensure that all components including your Ethernet switch are suitable.
If you just want a way of connecting different locations to the internet you can buy pre made patch leads of the desired length and plug into the patch panel at one end and then into a data outlet the other end. We recommend using solid pre terminated leads and these are available on request. Patch leads that you find on our site and online in general are made using stranded patch cables and whilst we are unable to recommend using these, it is not uncommon for users to do so.
