What we stock from TP-Link
Our TP-Link range is 43 lines, 42 of them in ethernet switches and networking. PoE switching is the biggest group at 22 lines, split between 12 desktop PoE switches and 12 rackmount PoE switches, including JetStream 10GE L2+ managed switches with PoE++ and Omada industrial DIN rail and wall mount easy managed switches with PoE+.
Unmanaged switching runs to 18 lines across desktop and rackmount formats, from 5 port gigabit desktop units upwards. Managed switching accounts for 7 rackmount lines. We also hold 8 Wi-Fi lines including Omada ceiling mount WiFi 6 access points, plus SFP mini GBIC modules for single mode and multimode fibre uplinks and AV1000 powerline kits.
Sizing a PoE switch
Port count is the easy part. The number that catches people out is the PoE power budget: eight cameras at 15W each need more headroom than an eight port switch with a 60W budget can give. Work out the total draw of the devices before choosing the switch, and if you are mixing cameras, access points and phones, leave room for the next phase.
