What we stock from BCC
Our BCC range is 18 lines, 14 of them bulk copper cable. Cat6 accounts for 9 lines, including Slimline solid U/UTP LSZH in violet with a CPR Eca rating on 100m reels and 305m boxes. Cat6a accounts for 2 lines of U/FTP screened cable with a CPR Cca rating, supplied in 305m boxes and reels. Cat5e accounts for 3 lines.
The other 4 lines are specialist: H1Z2Z2-K photovoltaic solar cable in black, in 4mm and 6mm conductor sizes on 50m, 100m and 500m reels.
Slimline cable and containment fill
The BCC Slimline Cat6 has a reduced outside diameter, which matters when you are pulling a large bundle through existing containment or a tight riser. If a refurbishment is fill limited rather than distance limited, a slimline cable can be the difference between reusing the existing trunking and installing new.
CPR ratings
The CPR Euroclass on these cables runs from Eca to Cca. Eca is the base requirement; Cca sits above Dca for reaction to fire. Check what the specification or the building requires before ordering, because swapping the cable after installation is not an option.
